About the School
For generations, families in Bridgeport have trusted our school to pass on the Portuguese language and culture to their children. The Escola Portuguesa Vasco da Gama has been part of this community since the 1960s — a place where language is learned, culture is celebrated, and identity is kept alive.
In 1981, the school was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Portugal. Classes follow a curriculum from the Instituto Camoes and focus on language, culture, history, and identity.

If your child is feeling ill, please keep them home and notify us at escolavascodagamabpt@gmail.com
Drop-off is at the Our Lady of Fatima School building, to the right of the church. A teacher or parent volunteer will be present at arrivals.
At pickup, please proceed to the school building stairs where staff will dismiss your children.
