The 2026 Picnic, in Vasco’s 95th year

In the year Vasco turns 95, the Club announced its summer Picnic early. An April save-the-date listed “26 • 27 • 28 de Junho” and promised that “este ano vai ser diferente” (this year would be different). On June 5, 2026, the Club published the official programme: Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.
Saturday opened with an opening ceremony and blessing, followed by Luizinho & Emanuel, the Rancho Folclórico Culturas de Portugal, a watch party for Portugal vs Colombia, and Starlight. Sunday was a Cultural Day, with guest folklore groups and DJ Danny C. That day the Club also invited members to march in the Barnum Festival parade; after the parade, the Picnic carried on with music, food and rancho performances throughout the day.
For the anniversary, the Women’s Auxiliary (the Senhoras Auxiliares) had commemorative polos marking Vasco’s 95 years on sale, along with the official Picnic t-shirts, in limited quantities.
On Saturday the Club wrote that it was “dia de picnic, dia de Portugal e dia de vestir a camisola”: picnic day, Portugal day and a day to wear the team shirt. On Sunday, sharing a video from the night before, it added: “Que festa ontem à noite” (what a party last night).
